Before you write

Questions we are asked most

Where exactly are you?

At Chemka Hot Springs, near Boma Ng'ombe in the Kilimanjaro Region, on the road between Arusha and Moshi. Most visitors reach us as part of a day trip to the springs. If you are coming independently, message us and we will send a pin and directions.

Do you ship outside Tanzania?

Yes. We arrange courier shipping and confirm the cost with you before anything is sent. Canvases can also be rolled so they fit in your hand luggage.

How long does a commission take?

It depends on the piece. A beaded set can be days; a large carving or a detailed painting takes longer. We give you a date when we quote, and send progress photographs as we go.

Why are prices not listed on the site?

Almost everything is made to order, so the price follows the size, the wood or beads used, and the amount of detail in the piece. A small carving and a large one are very different pieces of work. Tell us which piece interests you and what size you want, and you will get a firm figure rather than a guess.

Can we visit as a group?

Yes, and tour parties are very welcome. Message us in advance with your numbers and a rough arrival time so we can have enough space, seats and materials ready.
